Company History

Incorporated on 1st April 1960 , in pre independent Tanganyika, Business Machines Limited (then known as BML) was a pioneer in the provision of accounting machines for the banks. The service demand on this product expanded the operations of the country countrywide. This actually laid the foundation for the service tradition of the company.

In 1994, the company, in a dilapidated state, was 100% purchased by the current owners. The commitment and vision of the current owners has transformed the fortunes of the company as being among the strongest technology providers in the country, both financially and technically. With staff strength of nearly 200, (over 75% being in customer support operations) BMTL (as it is now popularly known) is now a name every office in the country is associated with in one way or another. From typewriters and telex machines to computers and communications and solutions and security, BMTL is the only company which offers it all under once roof. With the head office in Dar es Salaam and branches in Arusha, Mwanza and Mbeya we cover the whole country.
